Senior DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer

As we expand our customer deployments, we seek an experienced DevOps Engineer to deliver insights from massive-scale data in real-time. Specifically, we are searching for someone who will demonstrate a unique and informed viewpoint, enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team, and help develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences at every interaction, with a strong track record of bringing products to life.

About the position:

The client is a Dutch SaaS company creating a PoS and e-commerce platform for local stores, especially in the fashion industry. It is quickly growing and requires help with the load.

Duration: 6 months + with a high probability of extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Upgrade and optimize Kubernetes setup
• Implement a caching solution such as Varnish for a PHP Symfony e-commerce shop with tenant-based deployment
• Provide technical guidance to the engineering team on how to effectively utilize caching within the application
• Collaborate with in-house developers on various tasks to ensure seamless integration of solutions
• Implement monitoring and alerting for deployed e-commerce application

Reporting & Collaboration:

Reports to: CTO

Collaborates with: In-house and remote development teams.

Technologies:

Must-have: Varnish (or another alternative), Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD (GitOps), Kustomize, Prometheus, Grafana, GitHub actions.

Nice-to-have: Flysystem, Redis, Doctrine, PHP (specifically Symfony and WordPress), PostgreSQL/MySQL operators, devspace.sh, Application tracing, Ansible, BitBucket Pipeline or TeamCity, Azure Cloud.

Soft Skills:

• Upper Intermediate+ in English
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Effective leadership in advising and providing solutions
• Highly self-managed and able to work independently, ability to plan, estimate, and execute given tasks
